Georgia & South Carolina Membership Committee representative Cheryl Corcoran of Al Ameen Arabians was pleased to attend and share results from the GAHA Summer Classic Show last month...

The Georgia Arabian Horse Association show at the International Horse Park debuted Straight Egyptian classes in both halter and performance during their Summer Classic show at the beginning of August. In open halter the Straight Egyptians did very well, with the top wins of the show going to Tayyar Al Jannat, winning the Arabian Champion Gelding class for owner Suzanne Debolt and handler Cole Brewer; TF Shaambalah, taking the Grand Champion Arabian Mare honors for Allison Mehta and handler Ted Carson; and Ibn Raad being crowned the Grand Champion Arabian Stallion for owner Beth Witt and handler Tara Carpio.

In the Straight Egyptian halter classes top honors went to TF Shaambalah, Junior Champion SE Filly; Lily of Paradise, Senior Champion SE Mare, owned by Cheryl Corcoran and handled by Sue Ward; and Kassar Al Alb MM, winning the Senior SE Stallion Champion for owners Bill and Irma James and handler Ted Carson.

In the performance classes, Malik Al Jannat took the prize in Western Pleasure Open for owner Mercedes Spratt and rider Dale Brown; and Tayyar Al Jannat brought first in Hunter Pleasure ATR/JTR. Taking reserve in Dressage Training Level 2 was El Razeel Al Ameen, owned by Cheryl Corcoran.

Cheryl also reports that The Pyramid Society member wine and cheese social was a big hit, offering a nice refreshment break between class sessions, and that Sue Ward of Blue Sky Arabians won the raffle for the three SE Reference Manuals! Congratulations to Sue and all the winners at the show.
