"Great conference! I have been to almost all of them, and it is amazing how The Pyramid Society continues to find meaningful things to share with us!" - Jeanne Abernathy, Brookhill Farm "It was the best yet! The facility was amazing, the speaker roster was the best!" - Roxanne Parks, ISIS Arabians "I am so glad that I attended - it was well worth the time and cost of attending!" - Louise DeRusseau, LD Arabians "I loved the conference! I found it extremely informative and educational." - Kristy Caswell, Infinity Egyptian Stud

These praises have been echoed again and again in conversations with more than 70 attendees of the 5th National Breeders' Conference, recently held October 12-14, 2012 at DeShazer Arabians in Tomball, TX. A top-notch facility, an expert panel of speakers, a variety of delicious food, a diverse group of dedicated breeders, and  an atmosphere of camaraderie: all hallmarks of an enormously succesful weekend spent exploring Standards of Excellence in Egyptian Arabian Breeding.

We invite you to take a look below at some snapshots from this year's Conference, with photos graciously provided by Valerie Clinkenbeard, Lisa Abraham, and Randi Clark (see more photos in the gallery on the right).

Many of the Conference attendees began their weekend at Heritage C Egyptian Stud in New Caney, TX, on Thursday evening, where hosts Debby Hurdle and Jerry Rudd gave a warm, Texas welcome at their open house and presentation of horses.

The following morning, before heading to DeShazer's to register, guests greeted the day by visiting Lone Star Arabians in Magnolia, TX, where they were treated to an open barn and lunch by hosts Ken and Karen Shutts.

Guests spent their weekend of learning on DeShazer Arabians' beautiful grounds in Tomball, TX, with several seminars taking place in the field with hands-on attendee participation.

Using The Pyramid Society's NEW Standard of Excellence publication as their guide, attendees were able to study horses up-close while interacting with a consummate panel of speakers, inclduing Emma Maxwell (left), Joe Polo (center), and Lisa Lacy (right).

The 2012 National Breeders' Conference provided countless opportunities for breeders from around the nation and the world to connect while exploring timely and relevant issues - all centered around one, core passion: the Egyptian Arabian horse.

Finally, before parting ways, many of the Conference attendees took a Sunday drive to Waco, TX, where they were treated to cocktails and a showing of horses by hosts Judy Sirbasku and Shawn Crews at Arabians, Ltd. (Photo by Randi Clark)

The hospitality provided by Hank & Sandy DeShazer and the staff at DeShazer Arabians made for a truly memorable weekend for all. Special thanks to these wonderful hosts for sharing their property, their horses, and their time for the success of Egyptian Arabian breeders - both new and experienced, both large and small!

Additional thanks are in order for Markel Equine Insurance, 2012 Pyramid Society Education Sponsor, as well as Keri Wright, Bob Miars, and Becky Rogers, Conference Co-Chairs, and the Pyramid Society Education Committee for putting together a spectacular 2012 Conference. Keep watching for information on next year's Breeders' Conference as details become available.
