If visionaries are described as those who think about or plan the future with imagination and wisdom, the results of the inaugural NOBLE Straight Egyptian Breeders’ Festival proved to be a vision fulfilled. Hosted and organized by Mahmoud Anzarouti at his Sham Stables in Lochem, Netherlands on August 28, 2017, to coincide with the Egyptian Event Europe, the venue was as ideal as the vision itself. Rather than a competitive show, this vision presented a different platform for showcasing one’s horses. Individual Straight Egyptian breeders would have the opportunity to present representatives from their breeding programs and most beloved treasures to other breeders and enthusiasts in a relaxed atmosphere without pressure and without judging. Spectators would delight in samplings of delectables while enjoying these beautifully turned-out representatives of varying generations. Owners and family members would most likely be at the lead, proudly watching the results of their breeding expertise joyfully and freely ‘strut their stuff’ before nuzzling back up to them for that celebratory treat. And no aspect of the agenda, nor any attention to detail would be omitted. Perfectly manicured grounds and impeccable facilities, crisp white linens, fresh flowers, lunch tables laden with abundance in an adjoining tent, followed by afternoon treats and the opportunity to later walk the barns for an even closer look. Or the opportunity to just sit a bit longer while enjoying a glass of wine and the company of passionate Arabian enthusiasts. Quite literally, all factors to enhance vision. Every attendee must have taken great pride in their personal choice of the Straight Egyptian Arabian as their ‘ideal’ horse; and without a doubt, equally proud and honored to have attended a showcase so ideally suited for this noble horse and so perfectly executed by its visionaries and organizers. Members of the Honorary Board and Organizing Committee included: Hans Nagel of Katharinehof Stud; Cornelia Tauschke of El Thayeba Stud; Mahmoud Anzarouti of Sham Stables; Michael Ponnath of Ponnath Stud; Achim Dirnhofer of Birkhof Stud; Francesco Santoro of La Frasera Stud, Pierre Gorenen of Prestige Stud. Actively engaged with the direction and evaluation of the Noble Operations: Mahmoud Anzarouti, Cornelia Tauschke, Kinda Elias, Peter Hegemann, Susanne Bosche. Visit: www.noblefestival.com
