In 1969, the founding members of The Pyramid Society, recognizing the unique qualities and genetic prepotency of a specific group of Arabian horses in Egypt, meticulously studied stud books, herd books and trustworthy documents to acquire the information necessary to write a clear and precise definition of a Straight Egyptian Arabian horse. “For almost fifty years,” states Society Founder Judith Forbis, “this definition has served to identify all Straight Egyptian Arabians worldwide.”
The 2018 Region XII Egyptian Classic Championships, held May 12th in Perry, Georgia, showcased the Egyptian Arabian and its influence on the Arabian breed.
The Legacy Arabian Horse Club of Texas hosted its annual Cowtown Classic Horse Show March 16-18 in Fort Worth, Texas. 2018 marked the debut of Straight Egyptian classes, which included The Pyramid Society’s All American Straight Egyptian Challenge Cup qualifying classes. The 41st annual Region XII Arabian and Half-Arabian Championship Horse Show will be held May 7-12 at the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry, GA. Straight Egyptian Classes will be held Saturday, May 12th.
