Presenter: Laurie Lawrence, Ph.D, Chair, Department of Animal Science, University of Kentucky
Far from its original home in the arid deserts of the Middle East, the Arabian horse now occupies a treasured—and often pampered—place on farms around the world. Increasingly, however, questions arise about the care and feeding of these horses, and the nutritional needs of a desert-bred animal are under reassessment. Dr. Lawrence has built a strong reputation as a researcher in equine nutrition. She will address nutritional needs of broodmares and foals, breeding stallions and geriatric horses alike. Come to learn!
