May 2009 "Member Tribute"
As a membership organization, our strength truly lies with the dedicated individuals who have given their support, their time and their endless devotion for the betterment of the Egyptian Arabian horse. The Pyramid Society seeks to recognize those who have demonstrated such great dedication and support to both The Society and the Egyptian Arabian horse. You may look forward to future member tributes in upcoming e-newsletters.
Dr. Allan Clemenger
We are honored to provide the following heart-felt tribute to Dr. Allan Clemenger. If you have the privilege to know him, you will agree, his smile lights up the room, and his absolute love for his horses and his generosity are clear statements of his outstanding integrity. Dr. Clemenger has quietly and consistently supported The Pyramid Society since he first became a member in 1981. Throughout those years, he has touched the lives of many through his gentle disposition and generous spirit. Below you will read sentiments from a few of those whose lives he has touched.

KC Egyptian Arabians
I first met Dr. Allen Clemenger in 1998. I was told he had some wonderful mares, that might be available for lease. Indeed that was true, and thanks to his generosity I was able to obtain for breeding the treasured mares, Khafrana (Ibn Morafic x AK Khafifa) and Rasannah (Rasmoniet RSI x * Daniya), who we bred to our late stallion, Imperial Salateen, and the story of our farm continues from there.
When we reached Dr. Clemenger’s farm in Cottonwood, AZ we were greeted by his farm manager, Ann Smith, and both she and Dr. Clemenger graciously showed us the beautiful farm and horses. It was unbelievable the pedigrees and quality of horses at the farm, and yet such a laid back, casual atmosphere, made our visit extremely comfortable.
After our first meeting, Dr. Clemenger and his wife Donna were always on the sidelines, often with Dr. Clemenger as a participant at The Egyptian Event, in Lexington, KY. They always graciously asked us to join them at their seats, my mom, JoAnn Weisman and I, were lucky enough to get first hand opinions and praise of all the horses in the ring, by Dr. Clemenger. My mom and I, attended our first Egyptian Event in 1998, and it was so nice to be welcomed by someone familiar with all the activities of the show. I will never forget the first time I saw Dr. Clemenger showing his beloved stallion, Vooo Doo (Prince Charmming x Phoenix Gazelle) in one of the stallion classes. The love he showed for this horse was so obvious, and so joyful, I cannot imagine a more dedicated breeder, who truly adored his horses. A person who not only bred halter horses, but performance horses as well. One only needs to look up the show record of Vooo Doo, to know that performance classes were just as important as halter classes at Dr. Clemenger
