MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

The Pyramid Society is honored to have a long list of members who have supported us year-in-and-year-out. We know you will enjoy reading about many of your fellow members through our new monthly "Member Spotlight"...Easy to see why the spotlight is shining on Debra and David!

Debra & David Geiser

Dara Meadows Farm

Lexington, Virginia

Debra and David Geiser first joined The Pyramid Society in 1985, and Debra proudly states, “I have been to every Egyptian Event since 1985. That is 25 in a row!”

“The most important thing about being a Pyramid Society member is the solidarity we are able to achieve to advance the Egyptian horse.  Without the support of the members there could be no Egyptian Event. And even if you don't show horses you have to appreciate the value of having a chance to bring everyone together each year.  Whether you use the Event as a marketing and educational opportunity or just a week of enjoying friends, you have to admit we would be lost without it.”

“Our involvement with straight Egyptians began when we attended an Arabian show in Ocala in November 1984.  We decided to visit some area farms and look at the various breeding programs and once we saw our first straight Egyptians and found out about The Pyramid Society we were hooked.  We headed for the Egyptian Event the following June and that was that.  Everything about the Egyptian horse attracted us, from their incredible beauty and extreme type, to their exotic history and association with the mystery and allure of Egypt.  Having such a great organization to represent the Straights was just icing on the cake.”

“From the standpoint of the show ring, the most significant horse we’ve bred would have to be Pimlico RCA (Thee Desperado x *Bint Bint Jamil).  He was an Egyptian Event Supreme Champion Stallion and Region Nine Champion Stallion. Our stallion Akid Geshan sired the 2008 Egyptian Event Supreme Champion Stallion so we now have the sire of one and the dam of another Event Supreme Stallion at the farm!  They are treated like the royalty they are and seem very comfortable with all the catering.  From a personal standpoint we have bred three fillies that are really close to our ideal of the perfect Arabian.  The first was Akiysha Moon DMF (Akid Geshan x Zahara Kiyara) now owned by Al Mohamadia Stud in Saudi Arabia.  Asmari Jamila DMF (Thee Desperado x *Bint Bint Jamil) and Halawa BintGeshan DMF (Akid Geshan x Sonbolidaa DMF) have been retained for our broodmare band.  We are very excited about two young stallions we own and will be using in the next few years - Imperial Mistaar by Imperial Baarez (owned in partnership) and Jadoube Ibn Lahab DMF by *Al Lahab.  Our best foals are yet to come!!!
