“The Arabian or Arab horse is a breed of horse that originated on the Arabian Peninsula. With a distinctive head shape and high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the most easily recognizable horse breeds in the world. It is also one of the oldest breeds, with archaeological evidence of horses that resemble modern Arabians dating back 4,500 years. Throughout history, Arabian horses spread around the world by both war and trade, used to improve other breeds by adding speed, refinement, endurance, and strong bone. Today, Arabian bloodlines are found in almost every modern breed of riding horse.” …wikipedia
Since 1971 local Arabian horse lovers have organized shows around the Middle Tennessee area. The Music City Arabian Horse Show features Arabian horses and Half-Arabian horses competing in all disciplines of classes such as English Pleasure, Country English Pleasure, Hunter Pleasure, Western Pleasure, Trail, Sport Horse and Halter divisions.
In addition to the diverse classes this year, the Middle Tennessee Arabian Horse Association is pleased to be hosting the Total Arabian Interactive Learning Program (T.A.I.L.) for children of all ages; plus, a children’s coloring contest. Knowledgeable volunteers will be available during the show to share information about the Arabian breed that is noted for its incredible beauty, spirit, intelligence and athleticism.
Saturday night will feature a Progressive Barn party following the last class of the evening session. Participating show attendees will be judged on the theme and décor presented at their barn locations. Everyone is invited to join in the fun!
