SS Egyptian Arabians Moves to Arizona

SS Egyptian Arabians has moved from West Tennessee to South West Arizona.  We are now located in Wellton, Arizona just east of Yuma and a short 2.5 hour drive from Scottsdale.

The move has taken us from a "finished", lovely 12 acre farm of green grass, big trees and spring fed ponds with a great barn and a great house, to a "work in progress" new 20 acre farm in the desert.  The fences went up from a drawing and email communications with the contractor in the spring and the barn was completed in late summer. The biggest change has been that we went from the land of frequent thunderstorms and 80 plus inches of rain in 2009, to the land of no rain and a disappointingly undersized well that will not provide enough water for the pasture grass I had planned, yet I am learning, growing, adapting and having fun doing so.

The horses are all doing well and the hay purchased long before the move turned out to be great, so despite the limited grass that with help from the neighbors was started in several pastures before our arrival, all is good.  With a little luck, the Tennessee farm will sell soon and we will start on a house and probably a second water well or maybe a pond in the desert.

We look forward to seeing visitors despite our unfinished, in-process state.
