Remembering Joanne Gibson

The Pyramid Society joins the Egyptian Arabian horse community this week in mourning the passing of Joanne Gibson, who had been battling cancer. Her obituary makes no small mention of her love for Egyptian Arabians: "In the late 1970's Joanne, with her former husband Charles Gibson, Doctor of Chiropractic designed and built what was the largest estate in Placer County [California] at the time. On this stately property they established the world renowned Gibson Arabian Stud horse ranch, which at its peak was the home to many National Champion Egyptian Arabian horses."
Glorieta AliSudan and Imperial Imperor, two of the Gibson family's notable stallions, can be found in the new Legacy section of The Reference Handbook of Straight Egyptian Horses, Volume XII on pages 254 and 255.
Friends of Joanne are quick to recall her big heart and her larger-than-life personality. Joanne's contributions to The Pyramid Society and the Egyptian Arabian community will be long remembered. A full obituary, online guestbook, and memorial information can be found by clicking here.
