Remembering Bill Trapp

2758_mediumThe Egyptian Arabian community was saddened this week to learn of the death of longtime breeder and horseman, William (Bill) Trapp.  His wife, Pat, and daughter, Gale, both died earlier in the year. Gale's husband, Dr. Robert Dressler, survives.

For many years before their retirement, Bill and Pat Trapp were highly regarded breeders of Straight Egyptian horses at the Arabest Stud, Big Bend, Wisconsin.  Among their most notable horses was the magnificent Nabiel, whose reputation never faltered in Egyptian Arabian breeding.

Together with other pioneer Wisconsin breeders, Bill and Pat established the Wisconsin Egyptian Arabian Horse Alliance, which continues among the most enduring of regional groups promoting the Egyptian Arabian horse.

Bill Trapp will long be remembered for his quick wit and deep commitment to the Egyptian Arabian horse. His contribution to the lives of breeders large and small can hardly be underestimated.
