Paradise Arabians Attends Music City Show
The Music City Show in Murfreesboro, TN was both fun and successful. We took a total of five horses including: The Signet, Psychedelic Magic, Dianaah, GGA Hemingway and Ciroc. This was our first performance show as well!
Friday
Friday at 9:00AM started the show. Paradise had quite the cheering section including Dr Wally and Maddi Weeks, Sue Lelievre, Gary and Mary Putman, Donna and Joe Rovere, Missy Head and daughter Mary Scott, Beth Witt and daughter Erin, Dr. Ed Witt and Scott Head joined us on Saturday , Suzanne DeBolt, her sister and Tim Follis.
The classes started with Psychedelic Magic showing. As usual, she entered the ring with her tail over her back and breathing fire. She was awarded a first place and went on to be named Reserve Junior Champion. Dianaah then competed in the Senior mare class. She was rewarded with a second place. This assured her of all the points needed to advance to the US Nationals which will be held in October in Tulsa, OK. The only person missing was Miss Jeannette! She was however, able to view on the Live Stream. The Signet was next to perform and he was awarded a fourth place in a very competitive class for yearling colts. This was his first time showing. We were happy that Mary and Gary could be there to witness his first time in the ring!
Everyone enjoyed a lunch together of pizza supplied by Dr Wally and Maddi. It was wonderful! Thank you so much! We all had dinner together that night with barbecued ribs. The night classes then started. Frank showed GGA Hemingway in the Western Pleasure Novice horse and received a second place ribbon. Ciroc was shown by Frank in the Hunter Pleasure Jr horse and received a Fourth Place. Mary Scott was paired with her gelding, Ciroc in Hunter Pleasure. This was Ciroc’s first show in performance. This was also Mary Scotts first time in the performance ring with Arabians. They made everyone proud with a third place. Erin, paired with GG Hemingway, was next in. This was also GGA Hemingway’s first show as well as Erin’s first Arabian show under saddle! Again, we were not disappointed as they also earned a third place. All in all, we had a great first day and really appreciated all the help and support of the Paradise members!
Saturday
Saturday started very early with Frank and Ciroc showing in the Hunter Pleasure Jr horse championship.. They had a flawless ride and were rewarded with a reserve Championship. Frank had to make a quick change of clothes to show GGA Hemingway in the Western Pleasure Jr horse. They earned a fourth Place. Mary Scott was paired with her gelding, Ciroc in Hunter Pleasure. They made everyone proud with a second place. Mary Scott did a beautiful job and it was a sight to see. Ciroc flagged his tail the whole class! I really think he was happy and proud to be carrying his young talented owner! Erin, paired with GGA Hemingway, was next in. Erin and Hemingway then entered the ring for the Junior to ride Championship.. Again, we were not disappointed as they also earned a third place. Erin looked like a beautiful porcelain doll on the massive Hemingway. She was beautifully dressed in a sequined purple print blouse. Her saddle pad matched her shirt and black chaps and hat. It was a beautiful sight to see. Erin is a beautiful, very talented rider and did a great job. Erin and Hemingway are a great team and I can see a bright future for them. Frank then rode Hemingway in the Western Pleasure Limit horse and handily won! (a limit class is where the horse has not won six blue ribbons in that division) Ciroc came back Saturday night with Mary Scott in the Hunter JTR class. Again, they had a flawless performance and earned a third place.
Saturday night, after classes, the show held a progressive barn party. What fun and what great food! Paradise Arabians served red velvet and double chocolate cake. One barn served Italian food, another served Mexican Quesadias , another had pizza, grilled corn with cheese and lime juice and, last but not least, another farm served Margaritas (tasty). The food was all delicious and no one went home hungry. There were at least 100 people in attendance for the dinner.
Sunday
The final day of the show was Sunday. Mary Scott rode Ciroc in the Junior to ride Championship and was awarded a third place. Again, it was a beautiful ride. The relationship between Ciroc and Mary Scott is magical and I was amazed to see the bond that is forming between these two.
Frank then showed Hemingway in the Western Horse Junior Championship and earned a Reserve Championship. It was a very good show and was enjoyed by all.
I was particularly happy having all the owners and friends from Paradise come and support us! (also for all the help they gave) Paradise Arabians is blessed to have such great owners and friends with beautiful horses. We all look forward to the next show and hope everyone will come and join in the fun!
