The Pyramid Society unveils the “Golden Scarab Sweepstakes Program”
The Egyptian scarab carries enormous significance in Egyptian mythology. Recurring often throughout Egyptian artwork and hieroglyphics, this ancient symbol’s ultimate meaning is, “he has come forth.” So, it’s no mistake that we’ve entitled The Pyramid Society’s newest program The Golden Scarab Sweepstakes program. Not only have we “come forth” with another great opportunity to promote and market our members’ Straight Egyptian horses, but also we foresee the next generation of Straight Egyptian sires and dams coming forth through this new and exciting futurity-enrolled Sweepstakes program!

Straight and Egyptian-Sired Futurities for yearlings and two-year olds - The longest-running and most-prestigious classes at the annual Egyptian Event, The Pyramid Society’s Straight and Egyptian-Sired futurities have exceeded $1,000,000.00 in payouts since they began! The futurities provide guaranteed financial rewards and intrinsic marketing rewards, helping breeders showcase their programs to other breeders, brokers and buyers from around the world. Gold and Silver winners from the futurities are also eligible to compete for the highly-esteemed Junior Championships, further extending the excitement!
The Egyptian Breeders’ Challenge (EBC) - “The Challenge” is The Pyramid Society’s premiere promotional and incentive program for Straight Egyptian breeders and members. EBC yearling amateur classes now boast payouts exceeding $100,000.00 annually, trumping all other classes at the annual Egyptian Event in paybacks! Qualifying foals must result from an EBC-auctioned breeding to an enrolled Straight Egyptian stallion and must be nominated in their respective futurities. But the bottom line is: “You’ve got to be in it to win it!”
Introducing the NEW Golden Scarab Sweepstakes (GSS) Program - This NEW futurity program was designed with two major goals in mind:
(1) To provide outstanding incentives for both Egyptian and non-Egyptian breeders to breed to Straight Egyptian stallions;
(2) To provide even more excitement at the annual Egyptian Event through
HUGE GSS class paybacks!
HERE’S HOW IT WORKS – First - Straight Egyptian stallion owners who have enrolled their stallions in the EBC Auction become eligible to participate in the new GSS by paying an annual $500 nomination fee to build up the GSS pot. All participating GSS stallion owners will receive an attractive marketing packet for personal use in promoting this NEW Sweepstakes to qualifying mare owners breeding to their stallions, whether or not the breedings were purchased at the EBC auction!
Second - Straight Egyptian or pure-bred, non-Straight mare owners breeding to a GSS stallion may elect to pay a $200 mare nomination fee for each foal nominated into the GSS Sweepstakes, further building the pot! (All Mares must be nominated by December 31st of the year in which they were bred).
Third, resulting foals will compete at the annual Egyptian Event beginning in 2015 for exciting cash awards in the Golden Scarab yearling classes! These awards will be funded by the stallion nomination fees, the mare nomination fees, and from GSS class entry fees. What’s more, The Pyramid Society will retain only 10% of all fees for the inaugural year in order to really build the pot! Payouts will go to the Top 5 winners in these new yearling classes, which will be Amateur to Handle (ATH).

Straight Egyptian or pure-bred, non-Straight mare owners breeding to GSS stallions in 2013: pay your $200 mare nomination fees by December 31, 2013. Now is the time! These first GSS classes will be held at the Egyptian Event, beginning in 2015.
