We all have special "first times" in our lives and at this year's Egyptian Event another special first time became a reality.   Miss Vicky Torres has been around horses for the last 8 years and when she first groomed a horse and led it, she never dreamed that one day she would show a filly that is the pride and joy of both she and her sister Noemi. This filly is Azeezah RSA  and this year she and Vicky went into the ring for the first time together. First for everything.  First trip for the filly, first show for the filly and first class for both Vicki and Azeezah.  Sometimes "firsts" are special and they did just that.  Vicky made it look easy as she trotted Azeezah into the ring and moved her with grace and  the classic show look.  Her entire family watched on the live feed as she and Azeezah took center ring and stood up beautifully just like they had done it a thousand times before.  They received the recognition they deserved ---they were judged Top Ten ( 7th on the cards).  What a great achievement for a lady who never thought she would ever set foot in center ring. And oh---did I mention Azeezah was an orphan foal.

All the late nights have paid off.  And oh-did I mention ---Vicky and Noemi lost their mom to ovarian cancer 4 years ago and somehow I know she was smiling with tears in her eyes as she looked down from heaven  to see what Vicki and Azeezah did.  Yes, "first times" can be special.
