  HISTORY
Our love of horses is not a surprise, as we both were born on our family's farms in Iowa.  Our  grandparents had draft horses and our parents rode Morgan horses as children.  As a child, Keith had his own thoroughbred.  Though Janet wanted a horse, she had never got her own as a child.  So in 1975, it was a dream realized when Janet and Keith purchased a ranch in the Missouri Ozarks and started raising registered Purebred Charolais Cattle.  They used Morgan horses to work with the cattle.

In the 90's, Janet and Keith became interested in Arabian horses and began changing their focus.  At the Sacramento Expo they were finally introduced to the Egyptian Arabian horse.  It was then that they knew what they had been looking for.  Their lives would be changed forever.

KHARTEL MALIKA

(Alcibiades x MFA Maariia Isis)

Malika has two Aristocrat maresa, Isis and Maree from both sides of her pedigree.  She has the Dalal family of Saklawi on her sire's side, going back to Ali Pasha Sherif, Wanisa and Moniet El Nefous.  Her tail female line traces to Maaroufa.  She is a very correct mare and is an excellent axample of the Kuhaylan strain.

PHILOSOPHY
Since beginning our quest to become breeders and
preservers of the fabulous Straight Egyptian horses, we have become avid students of pedigrees and strains.  We have also come to realize the importance of studying the history of the breed, and we understand well the need to always be aware of the standard of which to work toward and be willing to always endeavor to learn from every perspective.

We have also been in business long enough to experience heartbreaks as well as exhilaration. We have chosen breeding stock carefully, learning always from mistakes and with an eye toward putting together a unique line, and todo it in such a way that we can make a small contribution for the future of and in order to help  perpetuate these  precious horses into the  future in the  best way possible.  We believe strongly that they must be very carefully bred,  using the pure in strain guidelines passed from a number of successful seasoned breeders.  We, in fact, feel that our Egyptian horses should be considered as if an endangered  species.

Thanks goes to the fabulous mentors  available.  The writings, books,  workshops, and advice available from  seasoned experts in this business is invaluable and beyond terrific.  Through perseverance along with patience and persistence  it is possible to experience the ultimate reason for with and raising these endearing horses.  Anything in life that is worthwhile will not always be easy.  There will be losses and sadness along the way when working with flesh and blood, but it will always be worth whatever, if you truly have the love and passion required.
