Official Guidelines
for participating at the Egyptian Event |
|
| |
YOU MUST: |
|
| |
♦
Treat horses with respect at all times. |
|
| |
♦
Report to the USEF Show Steward, the
Show Chairman or the Show Manager, any
wrong-doing when you see it happen. |
|
| |
♦
Present horses without makeup, dye,
heavy oils, grease or artificial appliances which distract from
their natural beauty. Any horse(s) suspected of such will be
given a "white towel test" and if anything shows up on the towel,
the handler will be asked to remove it. If not, they will be
excused. |
|
| |
♦
Show horses with natural eyelashes and
no balding. There must be visible hair around the eyes and
muzzle. A smooth surface anywhere on the face or around the
eyes with no stubble is grounds for elimination. |
|
| |
♦
Respect all Designated Parking Places
and park accordingly. The Kentucky Horse Park Mounted Police
will have vehicles towed that are parked in unauthorized areas. |
|
| |
♦
Conduct yourself with good sportsmanship
and fair play towards fellow exhibitors, judges, and spectators -- win,
lose or draw. |
|
| |
YOU MUST NOT: |
|
| |
♦
Use whips or abuse horses in the show
ring or on the grounds. According to USEF Rule III, GR302, any action(s) against a horse by a competitor or an exhibitor,
which are deemed excessive by a judge, Federation steward, technical
delegate, or competition veterinarian...may be punished by official
warning, elimination, or other sanctions which may be deemed
appropriate by the Show Committee. |
|
| |
♦
Use ginger or any other substance
which alters the horse’s natural tail carriage. Any Horses testing
positive will have titles, trophies, ribbons, and prize money
revoked. (See rule #3 under "More
Important Notes to Exhibitors" below.) |
|
| |
♦
Administer any drugs to horses unless
they are legally authorized and acceptable under USEF rules.
The use of such is grounds for elimination. Please contact The
Pyramid Society to request a copy of the Prize List for complete
details. |
|
| |
♦
Take horses off the show grounds until
they depart from the show, unless otherwise authorized, in writing,
by the show manager. |
|
| |
♦
Sit in anyone's seat but your own in the
Covered Arena. |
|
| |
These Commitments are
to be followed in the
Fraternal Spirit of this Organization and
with
respect for our Treasured Horses. |

More
Important Notes To Exhibitors |
|

|
|
| |
Membership in
The Pyramid Society is required for owners. |
|
| |
1. US EQUESTRIAN FEDERATION (USEF,
FORMERLY USAE, AHSA) MEMBERS & NON-MEMBERS: Life, senior active, and
junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all
classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the
Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the
advanced level, Dressage, Reining, and Vaulting Competitions and
Endurance Rides provided the respective breed/discipline dues or
breed/discipline category fee has been paid. A non-member may
participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach
or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage
Competitions, Reining Competitions, and Combined Driving
Competitions upon payment of a $20 nonmember registration fee and a
$5 breed/discipline category fee for each breed/discipline.
Participants in the following classes are exempted from the
requirements of this rule; 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and
races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk/trot and academy classes
(Academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a
lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and

|
| |
2. USEF
Rules and Regulations: Every Class offered herein which is covered
by the rules and specifications of the current USEF Rule Book will
be conducted and judged in accordance therewith.
See
USEF Chapter AR for Arabian Horse rules, class descriptions and judging
specifications. A knowledge of the rules of any
sport is required for each participant, and the exhibitor is in no
way exempt from this responsibility. A complete knowledge of any
compliance with the rules is essential and the exhibitor must be
fully cognizant of all the rules as well as class specification in
the Divisions in which he shows. It is obvious that however
complete rules may be, they can never cover all possible situations
which may arise. If a matter cannot be solved by interpreting
the rules to the letter, the solution to be adopted by those
responsible should lie in a principle which follows as nearly as
possible the spirit of the rules. For any further or all USEF
Rules and Regulations, contact USEF at (859) 258-2472 or
http://www.usef.org |
|
| |
3. THE PYRAMID SOCIETY WILL TEST FOR GINGER:
This stipulation applies to ALL horses shown or exhibited as part of
the Egyptian Event. The USEF approved test will be given randomly
and administered at ANY time deemed necessary by Show Management.
The test is minimally invasive and does not involve puncturing the
skin or any other membrane. The test is accurate, sensitive,
reliable, and detects ginger and other irritants.
Please be aware that the exhibitors are solely responsible for
handling their horses in such a way that does not present a threat
of bodily injury to the individuals collecting the samples.
|
|
| |
