Pyramid Challenge attendees not only experience a professionally
managed Ride, but are also treated to the breathtaking beauty of the
Kentucky Horse Park and the grace and charm of the Egyptian Event.

ENTRY FORMS/ PAYMENTS:
Please return entry form and signed liability waiver with full fee.
Fees, except for a $20 administrative fee, are refundable with
notice received by 5:00pm, Friday, June 8th. Entries
postmarked after May 21st will incur a $20.00 late fee.

ARRIVAL: Arrive via
I-75 north of Lexington and take Exit 120. Follow the signs to
The Kentucky Horse Park entrance. At the entrance, tell the
attendant you are an Egyptian Event competitor. They will
charge you a $5.00 entrance fee which is good through Sunday, June
10th. Follow "AERC-PYRAMID CHALLENGE" signs to campsite.
Camp opens on Thursday, June 7th. If you plan to arrive
earlier, please indicate on entry form and prepare to pay extra
camping fees.

REGISTRATION/ VET-IN:
Registration will begin at 10:00am, Friday, June 8th under the big
tent in the Steeplechase Infield. You must have proof of
negative Coggins (current within 12 months), a current health
certificate if your horse is arriving from outside Kentucky and AERC
membership card to check-in. Non-AERC members must pay a day
fee of $15.00 unless you are only participating in the 10 Mile Fun
Ride. Vet-in begins at 1:00pm.

50 milers at 6:30am
25 milers at 8:00am

CAMP: There is
primitive camping in the Steeplechase Infield. No camper
hookups; water for horses is delivered by tanker trucks; porta-johns
at campsite; showers in show office. Open fires prohibited,
charcoal grills OK. Dogs MUST BE ON A LEASH at all times
and physically confined (not just tied) when not being
directly supervised. Motels and restaurants are available within 5 miles.
Food, beverages, ice, etc., are available from Park vendors. Stalls
will be at a premium - if you need stalls, contact ride management
ASAP.

TRAILS: Two loops on
Kentucky Horse Park property and adjacent farm land. Primarily
grass and crop land; some gravel roads with grassy shoulders; pads
not required. Ample water on the trail. All vet checks
in camp.

FARRIER: Jon Brammer,
Egyptian Event Show Farrier, will also serve as the Endurance Farrier.
He is located near the Show Office on the Kentucky Horse Park
grounds.

2007 AWARDS: Top 10, Best Condition, 1st to Finish,
First Place Heavy-Weight, First Place Junior and Turtle.
Awards will be presented Saturday evening. Additionally, all
Egyptian and Egyptian-Bred/Sired Arabians (as verified by The Pyramid Society) will
be presented in the Main Arena on Saturday evening. Specifics
to be discussed at the Ride Meeting on Friday, June 8th.

2007 RULES: All AERC rules apply. Horses must be 48 months old to compete in
25-mile ride and 60 months old for 50-mile ride. Junior
must be a minimum of 8 years old wear a helmet, and have a sponsor at least 21
years old who is participating in the same ride. No juniors on
stallions. Stallions must be securely confined.>>click

FOOD: Friday evening
dinner is included in rider fees. Extra tickets are $10 for
non-riders. Coffee and donuts will be available on Saturday
morning beginning at 5:00am, snacks served at Saturday evening
awards presentation.

TEN-MILE FUN RIDE: At
1:00 PM Friday, June 8th, there will be a 10-mile fun ride through
the Kentucky Horse Park for those who would like to give distance riding a try without
getting too sore. Horses will vet-in prior to and after the ride.
Participants may register at the ride. |

EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:
This ride is hosted by The Pyramid Society in conjunction with its
annual Egyptian Event – the world’s premier show for Egyptian and
Egyptian-Bred/Sired Arabian horses. This show typically attracts 300+
entries and has true international participation and attendance. The
show runs June 3-9.
The Kentucky Horse Park has an
excellent museum. Additionally there is a Saluki dog show held at
the Horse Park from June 5-9, 2007. |
