$70,000 Minimum Payback for the Two EBC Classes in 2007!

2007 EBC AUCTION & STALLION SHOWCASE PARTICIPANTS

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

GENERAL PROGRAM GUIDELINES

Straight Egyptian stallion owners, who are current members of The Pyramid Society, may donate up to two breedings per stallion to each annual EBC auction (See Donated Stallion Breedings-Forms and Guidelines).

A Straight Egyptian Stallion Auction is held each year at the Egyptian Event.

Each breeding sold, entitles both the stallion owner and the purchaser, to nominate a resulting foal into the EBC Program.

Straight Egyptian and Egyptian Sired Yearlings (resulting from these auctioned breedings), along with their amateur handlers, are eligible to compete in the EBC classes at the Egyptian Event for large purses and international acclaim.

The Pyramid Society reserves the right to refuse involvement in the EBC auction based on the participants past history.
  Broodmares must be purebred Arabian.

Breedings are to be used during the breeding season following the EBC Auction (i.e. year 2007 Auction = 2008 breeding).

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Unsuccessful breedings may be carried forward one year, if this is in compliance with the re-breeding right and live foal guarantee stated in the stallion's contract.

*Written documentation pertaining to any extenuating circumstances affecting the success of an EBC breeding must be sent to The Pyramid Society office.
*All situations will be considered on an individual basis.  Decisions made by the EBC Review Board will be deemed final.

  TRANSFER POLICY

SALE OR EXPORTATION OF A STALLION

*These breeding fees are non-refundable by The Pyramid Society.
*An EBC nomination may be transferred to the following year if a successful breeding did not occur, or no foal resulted.
*Transfers can be carried forward 1 year only.
*All stallion service fees paid by the purchaser to The Pyramid Society will remain in the prize money account for the original year the foal was to be shown. No money will be transferred between years.
*Transfers may only take place if the EBC Stallion’s Breeding Contract allows for a re-breeding and/or owner transfer.
*Foals must be by the original EBC Stallion; however, there can be a change in the Mare.
*A written request for transfer, accompanied by a vet statement (when applicable), must be sent to The Pyramid Society office.

*Official documentation, signed by both the purchaser and seller must be sent to The Pyramid Society office.

  * The original stallion owner would not be eligible to enter a foal in the EBC.

Option 1. If frozen semen had been saved, and the contract allows for its use, it should be made available to the mare owner. (Keep in mind that frozen semen often entails additional fees for the mare owner.) If this is not a viable option and/or no foal results, both parties may proceed to the following options.

Option 2. If the contract allows, the new owner may honor the breeding, and both the new owner and the purchaser would be eligible to enter a foal into the EBC.

Option 3. The money paid to The Pyramid Society may be used as a “credit” toward the purchase of either another available breeding for the same year, or the purchase of another breeding from the following year’s EBC Auction. No refunds or “overage” credits will be issued. Breedings may be carried forward one year only.

  CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP

INCAPACITATION, INJURY OR DEATH OF A STALLION

*These EBC rights, breedings and/or foals may be sold / transferred to a new owner.

* A written request for a transfer must be sent to The Pyramid Society by the original owner. Both parties will then be required to sign and return the provided transfer form to the Society’s office, allowing the transfer to be processed and approved.

* The new owner of the breeding/foal must be a current member of The Pyramid Society in order for the foal to be eligible to participate in the Futurity and EBC programs.

*A new owner purchasing a foal that has been nominated to the Futurity and EBC program should obtain the Futurity confirmation form from the previous owner, and forward it to The Pyramid Society along with proof of ownership (i.e., registration or purchase contract). Please contact the Society’s office with any futurity/EBC eligibility questions.

*A vet statement must be sent to The Pyramid Society office.

 * The stallion owner will still be eligible to enter a foal into the EBC if the contract and program guidelines have been adhered to.

Option 1. If frozen semen had been saved, and the contract allows for its use, it should be made available to the mare owner. (Keep in mind that frozen semen often entails additional fees for the mare owner.) If this is not a viable option and/or no foal results, both parties may proceed to the following options.

Option 2. If the stallion service contract allows for a breeding to another stallion, this may take place, although the resulting foal would not be EBC eligible.

Option 3. The money paid to The Pyramid Society may be used as a “credit” toward the purchase of either another available breeding for the same year, or the purchase of another breeding from the following year’s EBC Auction. No refunds or “overage” credits will be issued. Breedings may be carried forward one year only.
