HEATHER FARMSTEAD

2008 Donation "Timeless" by Heather Farmstead

Heather began painting in 1988, and until recently the only formal training she had recieved were high school art classes. She continued painting through the years, gradually getting better with practice. She is now self - published and continues to provide commissioned artwork and donate work to local charity auctions.

In 2004, Heather enrolled in the Art Institute of Pittsburgs online degree program. She continues to work towards her Bachelor of Science in Game Art and Design, where she is learning the in's and out's of 3d computer animation and modeling. In her 4 years of school, she has maintained a 3.9 GPA and has made the Dean's List each semester. She is set to graduate in 2 yrs, and has high hopes of graduating with Honors and moving on to a career in the entertainment industry.

Her artistic focus has always been on creating photo like realism. Over the years her style has developed and continues to evolve. Some have described her work as divine, others argue whether its a photo or a painting. Either way, Heather's goal is to simply create and bring life to those things she finds beautiful. She does not deliver any message with her artwork, as each viewer finds thier own message hidden within her brush strokes.
