A self-taught artist, Debi Davis has drawn on her years of
experience
with animals to specialize in wildlife, animal portraits and
landscapes as
her Primary subject matter. Having owned and raised horses and dogs
for
many years lends credibility to her pieces, as well as an unusual
ability to
convey personality in her work. Most of her work has been by
private
contract, but she has also had gallery exposure, and has also
produced
several limited edition prints and done some book illustration.
A
series of limited edition prints has been an on-going project
with the
Library Associations of Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina for
the past 16 years.
Her works have won awards in several national competitions, and were
Juried into the top 200 of the prestigious Arts For The Parks
competitions several times, against over 2000 entries.
Her works are done primarily in oils or pastels, but also in
acrylics, pencil, and pen& ink. |
