In her
own words:
I was born a Baroness in Berlin Germany, but the war took all the
family treasures including artworks and horses, however the love for
these things where instilled in me and brought to the surface by my
mother, who encouragement me to fulfill my dreams. My parents where
involved in art, photography and horses, my father in the cavalry
and my mom in the circus. After my father passed away, my Mother,
twin sister and I came to this country.
Having loved
animals, especially horses all my life, I have always drawn or
painted pictures of them. I have basic limited art education and am
mostly self-taught.
As a child I
took art classes at the De Young Museum in San Francisco, as an
adult I was the assistant to an art director at Shaklee Products
designing labels and brochures. I also freelanced in modeling, (when
I worked for Fiberboard Paper Products, I posed for the modern
version of the Sun Maid Raisin girl) this brought photography as an
interest and another hobby for me.
When I was
involved in Arabian horse breeding and local equine clubs, I helped
designing newsletters, logos and art donations for auctions, as well
as being a board member in equine clubs and art guilds. At this time
I belong to the Canadian based EAG and I am one of the cofounders of
the Wisconsin Equine Art Guild, WEAG. I also was the coordinator for
the Midwest Horse Fair, MHF art show. My artwork has been accepted
into the Harness Track of America (HTA) auctions, the Draft Horse
Classic shows and the prestigious American Academy of Equine Art (AAEA).
I have won many art contests over the years, placing first or
second. My greatest accomplishment to date is having illustrated the
GallopHome™ equine Board Game, Coloring Book and Puzzles. This
winter I will be illustrating children’s books for a client.
Having survived
cancer I have found my center to be God and Thank Him for the gift
of my ability to express my love for animals and especially horses
in a medium of choice. I believe art can be the tangible evidence of
the human heart and spirit. In most of my paintings I incorporate a
tiny angel or cherub, revealing it only to the person that purchases
the artwork… I will always be looking for that 'special way ' to
express a recognizable art medium with my name, and of course to
improve in whatever I do.
My loving
husband and two beautiful daughters have encouraged me to pursue my
dream of reaching out to people and affecting their lives with
either my art or spirituality.
